Ginkgo biloba extract is considered as a safe drug. Side effects are generally rare. In some patients headaches, dizziness, gastrointestinal upset and skin reactions were reported. Bleeding complications might occur with use of ginkgo. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should avoid using ginkgo.
Interactions
Ginkgo interacts with blood thinners like warfarin, aspirin and other anti platelet agents. It might enhance the effects of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (an antidepressant medication)
