Symptoms of mesothelioma include shortness of breath, weight loss, abdominal distension (peritoneal mesothelioma) and chest pain.
Does smoking cause mesothelioma?
There is no association between smoking and mesothelioma. If you are diagnosed with mesothelioma, it is related to your asbestos exposure but not smoking. However smoking can increase the occurrence of lung cancer in patients exposed to asbestos leading to asbestosis.
